- Whangamatā to Whitianga: Continue north along the rugged eastern coastline (about 1 hour 15 minutes total driving), passing through Tairua, detouring to Hot Water Beach.
- Whitianga to Coromandel Town: Cut across the central peninsula via SH25 (roughly 50 minutes), with options to ride the narrow-gauge Driving Creek Railway.
- Coromandel Town to Paeroa (via Thames and SH25/SH25A): Head down the western Firth of Thames coast through Thames and Hikutaia back to Paeroa (about 1 hour 15 minutes)
