What a great day put on by the team again. The weather was perfect, a cool crisp morning leading the way to a beautiful warm sunny afternoon.
The Yankie Haulers know how to put on a fun filled family day. The kids were well entertained with a large inflated slide, bouncy castle and fairground rides.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter gave a spectacular display, both on the ground and in the air. One lucky raffle winner was flown off to the Waikato Base and returned in a classic ride. The Morrinsville Volunteer Fire Brigade was displaying their new Fire Truck and giving rides around the park on the Vintage 1936 Ford V8 powered Fire Engine, it was great to see so many smiling faces going past. The St John Ambulance crew was also giving rides in their old ambulance with horns in full tune.
There was plenty to keep the bigger kids happy with trade stalls, including Ajay’s, swappers, great food and live entertainment. DMT Racing’s Monster Truck was doing its thing and showing off it raw power. So too was the high performance drag car on display as it started-up.
In all 436 vehicles were on display. From early model T’s, to more modern vehicles from the Ford Performance Vehicle owners Club, and various car clubs around making the most of the day. The variety of cars on display catered for every taste, from pure classic to streamline customs, supped up and dressed up rides. The paint jobs were amazing from flames right down to Betty’s knickers.
The display of Big Rigs was great to see. Not many shows include the back bone of the transport industry and community, so thanks guys. We had an absolute blast and cant’ wait for next year.
Check out photos from our day out!
