Canterbury VCC Swap Meet

This year’s two day event caught a few people by surprise, as they were expecting to come out on Sunday, they quickly came out on Saturday afternoon. Sadly the weather did not play the game and many swappers were packing up to head home by early afternoon. We’d had light showers, heavy rain and at one point hail. We understand that the 2012 event is due to go back to a three day event.

There was plenty of new treasure that had been shaken out of sheds and into the swap box. The atmosphere was filled with good spirits and a positive outlook. It was easy to see the event had a hugely positive social impact on everyone and it was great to see the immense support the wider community has for those affected in Christchurch.

The steam engines had come out to play as had many cars from around the area. Steam Scene was a buzz with the Steam Train and Vintage car display. It was great to catch up with many of our southern customers, which kept us busy all weekend.

Thanks for your support and thanks to the Canterbury VCC for a great event. See you in 2012
